After watch Sherlock Holmes in class this week i could help to notice some similarities between Sherlock Holmes and Christopher Boone. In the book Christopher says he notices the little details when he looks at things, and in the movie Sherlock is always figuring things out by using the little details for example when he his talking about Watson's fiancee he can tell from the discoloration on her finger that she use to be married. Not many people notice these things. Also Sherlock also shows an extreme interest in science as shown when he is in his room trying to create a silencer for a gun. Christopher also favors science he says he might want to study physics in college.
Another way they are similar is that they both are embarked in quests. Sherlock Holmes quest is to stop lord Blackwood from whatever it is he is trying to do. In the Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time Christopher is involved with multiple quests. There is the quest of finding out who killed Wellington, who ended up being his father. Another quest in the book is Christopher's journey to London to find his mom.
In both the book and in the movie Sherlock and Christopher have to use logic to figure out the problems that are presented. In the book Christopher logically thinks that Wellington's killer must be related to Wellington or someone that wants to hurt Mr. or Mrs. shears and in the end he is right because the killer ends up being his father and his reason for kiling Wellington is to get back at Mr. Shears. In the movie Shelock uses logic to figure out what lord blackwood is up to and eventually stop him.
